A tour of the workshop offers a true immersion into the world of SAINT JAMES. It all begins here in the town of the same name: Saint-James.
SAINT JAMES Knitwear invites you to discover their traditional craftsmanship in the making of authentic sailor jumpers and striped tops by opening the doors to their workshops, just a stone’s throw from Mont Saint-Michel.
Since 1889, SAINT JAMES has upheld the French tradition of craftsmanship in textile manufacturing. Awarded the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ label, come and discover the history and the artisans behind this excellence in craftsmanship!
You will be told the story of how this famous ‘authentic sailor’s jumper’ is made, with its knit so tight that it is said to be waterproof: every stage from design to production.
VISIT:
Visits take place from Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 3.30pm. Available times are: 10.30 am, 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm.
No tours are available at weekends or on public holidays.
Tours of the workshop are by BOOKING only. The tour lasts one hour.
