On Wednesday, 25 May, the Tennis Club of Granville welcomed a French top-50 tennis player. Jules Marie, ranked No. 37 in France, came to hit balls with the youngsters from the tennis school.
This visit was arranged through Jennifer Decamp, one of the club’s sponsors and members, who manages luxury gîtes in Normandy and met Jules Marie during a training camp.
"She decided to sponsor him and made this wonderful meeting with the young players and the club possible,” says Catherine Coudrin, president of the Tennis Club of Granville. It’s worth noting that Jules Marie, who won the latest Open de Caen, knows Granville well. He is a former student of Sévigné and was a member of the regional tennis section in the 2000s, alongside players such as Axel Michon and Kinnie Laisné.
“I’m very happy to be back in Granville and to have had the chance to rally with the youngsters from the Tennis Club of Granville. I hope I’ve inspired them to play tennis or continue pursuing sports in general,” he said.
